Online Identity Management: Google yourself today!

February 27th, 2009 · No Comments

This is something I suggested to some of my friends on Facebook few months ago as their profile had been indexed by Google at that time. In other words, anyone who would search their names in Google would see their FB profiles (the preview of course).

I don’t know how well you are aware of OIM (online identity management) but as you may know, employers, these days, search for information about applicants on the internet and sometimes they find stuff that we were not aware of and that we didn’t know we made it available to public (funny pictures, personal information , etc.). Therefore, people try to be careful of the history they create for themselves. Regarding Facebook, one can always change the setting via the security section.
