Has Fido really eliminated “service access fee” from its plans?

February 24th, 2009 · No Comments

In its new AD’s, Fido claims that it has eliminated the “service access fee” from its plans and that it now has plans that start from JUST $15 and that there no more plans which make costumers commit for more than 2 years. Sound good ya? Especially after the news we heard about the controversial lawsuit against cell phone companies in Canada.

But if you look into the details and those FINE prints, you will notice that they have simply eliminated something but have added something else which will make them more money at the end of the day! Fido has really eliminated the SAF, but now, if you want the unlimited incoming calls which was included in most of its plans previously, you need to add a $10 fee to what you pay for your plan! Yes, you don’t pay $7 but you pay $10. Nice ya?

Regarding the shorter plans (max. of 2 years), it seems that iPhone fans are still required to sign a 3-year contract if they want that fancy phone.
